Background[edit | edit source]

The Sd.Kfz 251 (Sonderkraftfahrzeug 251, 'Special Purpose Vehicle') or more commonly known by the allies as the "Halftrack", is a German Armored vehicle in Post Scriptum. It is a transport vehicle armed with an MG 42 on the top, behind a gun shield. It has 10 seats, one of those being the driver's seat and one being the gunner's. The Halftrack is somewhat armored, being able to protect the crew from most small arm rounds. However, repeated shots to the engine can knock the vehicle out, making it a target for grenades, P.I.A.Ts and other explosive munitions. The only exposed crew member is the gunner that sits behind the gun shield.. However, the Halftrack does not have a roof and it is relatively easy to climb up and shoot the occupants if the vehicle is stationary.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

Halftracks are used to transport troops from point A to point B. A full squad can load inside the halftrack and use it to flank an enemy force attacking an objective, due to its relatively high speed. Be advised however, the use of both tracks and wheels make the vehicle loud and easy to spot, especially in woodland. It can also be used inside cities, holding down a road with the MG42. However, the gunner is exposed to sniper fire and prone to being sniped out of the vehicle with relative ease.
