Background[ | ]

The Pz.Kpfw. V Ausf. A (Panther A) is a German Medium Tank in Post Scriptum, although it is mostly deployed as a Heavy Tank due to its weight and power. Armed with a powerful 7.5 cm KwK 42 main gun and two 7.92 mm MG 34 machine guns; one of which is located co-axially with the turret's main gun and the other one mounted on the hull. It is operated by a crew of 4; driver, gunner, hull machine-gunner and a commander.

The Panther comes with 30 APCBC shells, 9 APCR shells and 40 High Explosive shells. Plus 18 boxes of 300 rounds per main MG34 and 15 of 250 rounds per the hull gun.

Strategy[ | ]

The Panzer V "Panther" is a menacing machine. The Panther can reach speeds up to 55 km/h on flat roads. It turns quickly and sharp while in speed, but becomes more cumbersome when reversing. The green and yellow paint scheme blends in with the environment fairly well, but it is a large and tall tank which makes it easy to spot out in the open.

The Panther's long high velocity 75 mm KwK 42 gun outperforms the Tiger's 88 mm and the Firefly's 17 Pounder. Its main gun reloads fast and the electrically assisted turret turns quickly unlike the Tiger's hand-cranked turret.

The Panther has thick sloped frontal armor and a big armored gun mantlet which does a great job deflecting tank rounds. It's a tough tank to defeat in a front-to-front engagement.

However, you should avoid exposing its side armor, which houses three ammo-racks on the left upper hull and two on the right upper. Even the smallest tank guns can penetrate this armor and kill the tank instantly. Due to this, it is by far the easiest tank to "one hit kill" in Post Scriptum.
